School Creed and Prayer

Student Creed

With Heaven and Earth as my witness,

I come before you
with a
GOOD HEART,

seeking
Knowledge,

asking for
ACCEPTANCE.

I will keep that KNOWLEDGE
in my HEART

and live a life of
HONOR and
LOYALTY,

CHARITY and
FAITH.

Instructor Creed

Respect your country, respect the people, respect your Instructor, respect all martial arts.

Learn morally, learn unselfishly, learn Spirit Warrior Gate.

If you are able to accomplish the art, be humble.

An Instructor of the art does not abuse his knowledge
by using it wrongfully.

If a person is not a moral person, they must not be taught even if they offer you riches.

If they are a relative and not moral, they may not be taught.

If a person is thought to be of high morals, they shall be taught.

If you are able to learn Spirit Warrior, it may look like
a rock, but treat it as a brick of gold.

Spirit Warrior Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for all the good things that you have given me and all the bad things you have not.

Forgive me for I have not done Your will and I have broken Your law.

Bless my efforts in my training, whose purpose is to keep me from evil, and to keep others mindful of Your commandments.

Should I face evil You have trained my hands for war and my fingers for battle. You are my shield and the One in whom I take refuge.

Keep our training partners safe, as iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another.

Give me eyes to see You in everything and use me to do Your good works.

Amen

This prayer is my version of a prayer written for the Kajukenbo System by one of its founders, Frank Ordonez in 1947. I hope that my variation would meet with his approval. Hopefully it will meet with God’s approval.
