1. Lv1: Breaking the Coconut
- Attacker: (L) Lapel grab, followed by (R) punch
- Defender: Pull into a (L) Cat Stance, while simultaneously executing a (L) extended outside block and (R) over hand punch to the forehead.
Lv2: SplitFigure 4
- Attacker: (L) stepping punch
- Defender: Stepping into a (L) Cat stance, simultaneously execute a (R) reverse high block and (L) knuckle strike to opposite side of arm on tricep. Bend the arm, rolling their hand back toward their shoulder. Lock it in by grasping your right hand with your left
2. Lv1: Removing the Branch
- Attacker: Arm Bar from your Right side punch position
- Defender: “Door Hinge” step with the (L) foot, so that your body is perpendicular to the attacker’s. At the same time bend the right arm pulling toward your own body. Grasp your right hand with the left, pull your hand away from attacker while folding for (R) side kick. Execute (R) side kick and hammerfist simultaneously.
Lv2: Twisting Leaves
- Attacker: Arm Bar from right side punch position
- Defender: same as Lvl 1, except now when door hinging grab your attacker’s right hand, and as your hands move toward your left hip, peel the attacker’s hand off of yours, creating a ¾ twist lock. Finish with a side kick to the knee and hammer fist to the temple.
3. Lvl 1: Spinning Sword
- Attacker: Chicken Wing Lock the right arm from the rear
- Defender: Fold Left hand for a Knife Hand block. Step left foot behind and across, turning toward your left shoulder. Knife hand chop to the opponent’s neck or jaw.
Lvl 2: Spinning Sword Grabs
- Attacker: Same as Lvl 1.
- Defender: Same as Lvl 1, except use your right hand to regrab the opponent’s arm, pulling him off balance as you turn.
4. Lvl 1: Inside Thunder, Outside Lightning
- Attacker: Left Hand Punch
- Defender: Triangle step with the Left foot into a Forward stance. Outside Block to the attacker’s left wrist. Follow up with a front kick to the opponent’s inner thigh, knee, or groin. Finish with a center punch with the right hand.
Lvl 2: Sweeping Thunder
- Attacker: Front Kick to the stomach.
- Defender: Use Knuckle to knuckle fold as a scooping block, catching the front kick. Use coordinated full body motion to push opponent over.
5. Lvl 1: Splitting Talon
- Attacker: Side Shoulder grab
- Defender: Step out in a forward stance toward the attacker while simultaneously delivering a low “block” to the groin. Reload the hips by twisting the feet, and clear the grabbing arm with a knife hand block. Finish with a “high block” rising hammerfist strike to the chin.
Lvl 2: Turning Bear Hug
- Attacker: Front bear hug
- Defender: Fold for a “low block” grabbing the attacker’s hair, ear, or face with the top hand, and striking to the ribs with the low hand. While holding on to the attacker, perform a ¾ turn taking your opponents head around and to the ground.
